How You Can Help the YWCA

You can become a member of the YWCA of Aotearoa New Zealand or any of the nine local YWCA’s.

 

Your membership supports the work of the YWCA and its commitment to empowering women. Membership is for one year, the fee varies between local YWCAs. Contact your local local YWCA or phone or email the National Office for more information.

Our YWCA Membership

The YWCA Membership is valid for 12 months. This means for a year you are part of the largest women’s membership organisation in the world. An organization that provides high quality programs and services. An organisation that responds to community needs, and is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of women and their families.

As a YWCA member, you will have access to the programs and services of the YWCA (see Program Guide). You will receive your own copy of the program guide and newsletter four times each year as well as other special member mailings throughout the year. You can take part in the in the governance of this association by becoming a volunteer or committee member. If you are a female & over 16 years of age you can vote at our Annual General Meetings.

The Purpose of the YWCA of A/NZ and all of its Member Associations is to work for individual and community change by empowering women, especially young women, to develop and exercise their individual and collective leadership through enhancing their spiritual, physical, mental and cultural well-being. We are a women-led organisation committed to addressing all forms of oppression, so that women may together attain social and economic justice.
