The YWCA has made an organisational commitment that young women’s leadership is key to all that we do. This is a massive commitment we take seriously. Young women are the heartbeat of the movement and the RTIs will be an opportunity to celebrate and strengthen this.

Regional Training Institutes (RTIs) are held by the World YWCA to ensure young women’s voices are heard loud and clear before World Council meetings.
In 2009, Aotearoa New Zealand attended the RTI for the Ais Pacific in Bali, Indonesia.
The ‘Young Women Leaders Dialogue’ was a feature of all RTIs, creating a safe space where young women of the YWCA movement can discuss violence against women, HIV and AIDS and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).
Young women’s leadership training has always been a feature of RTIs, thought the ‘Young Women Leaders Dialogue’ shaped the vision of the YWCA movement as World YWCA Council 2011, Zurich approaches.
The dialogue fed into all regional strategies on violence against women, HIV and AIDS and SRHR and the global World YWCA strategy and vision.
